This is one of my two beloved Fender players ( the other, also sold here - ‘75 Jazz…) for nearly 15 years (I was not a regular gigging musician during this period). I’ve swapped the original components for more solid playability, ease, and tone. The current component setup is fantastic! Includes: a badass II bridge; relic’d ultralight tuners (these made the bass balance beautifully - no neck dive); and Lindy Fralin standard P pickups.

- The frets are excellent and hearty; they were professionally replaced just before my purchase; for most of us, decades of life remain.
- The neck is straight and true, truss rod is fully functional.
- The back of the neck has a satin-sanded oil finish and is super smooth, like butta! (My Luthier (Jim Rawlings - Rawlings Guitar, Berkley, MI) has done this to all of my players over the past 25 years and has it mastered).
- 1 ⅝ at the nut. The nut has been replaced, and the string tree has been altered for setup improvements.
- Bridge, Tuners, Pickups (test out perfectly), Strap Buttons).
- The wiring and coding on the tone and volume potentiometers (#304-7222, 22nd week of 1972)
- The output jack and pickguard appear original.
- Condition: Mojo’d, Played, and Loved! Of course, she’s a unique finish, and the look draws lots of envy.
- The non-original Fender G&G Tweed Hardshell case is included and is in excellent condition.
- The bass hasn’t been played more than a couple hours total over the past 4-5yrs. We all know that pots can get scratchy when an instrument sits. Of course, this is nothing that playing time and/or contact spray won’t clear up in short order. I’ve played it while creating this posting - scratching is tiny and working its way out.
- ATTENTION: I did not do any type of precise setup after it was disassembled for photos. I don’t handle my setups and figured why add cost to the sale on either end when the buyer will set up to their preferences anyhow?
She is an incredible bass, but I no longer play enough to justify ownership.
