Does anyone know why drop B for 5 string bass is BEADG where as the guitar is BF#bEG#C#? Or is the bass the same way?

Muttleybass said:The bottom four strings on a guitar are EADG. Same as a 4 string bass (octave lower). The low B string is added. That way you don't have to re-learn your fingering if you don't use the low B string.
Generally bass is not played like a guitar. Less emphasis on chording.
So then drop B for the bass is BF#bE?
Nev375 said:B F# B E is correct for a 4 string, but that's not common.
Typically it is BEAD a.k.a B standard or AEAD for drop-A
Unless you are Michael Manring, most bassists don't mess with altered tunings so much.
