That's not cheating.. I find that most rock and pop music with male singers are written around chords like C, D, Dm, E, F, G, A, Am,Hm which in standard tuning in a rock band setting suits a bright baritone. But even those bright baritones when they get up past 45 years of age they start tuning down a half step.. This basically happen for most singers on a lot of their material,,Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Elton john, Billy Joel..
I am a deep baritone and E-flat is closer in pitch for my voice.. But it is actually slightly too high.. At 440Hz i need to do weekly exercises and be 100% focus on vocal techniques when singing high around the second passaggio.. I need the pitch lowered to 435Hz (-20 cents) before I feel comftable with singing very high for my vocal fach (deep baritone)...

Most male singers get worn out by singing high through the second passaggio (break) at 440Hz for so many years... The entire new age 432Hz thing on the net is probably bogus.. But 432Hz or (-31.77 cents) have a nice relaxed resonance and keeps a certain note from flipping into head..Here is an old video with superstar opera bariton Pireo Cappuccilli demonstrate the difference between 432Hz and 440Hz tuning., He says watch out for the D#4, at 432Hz tuning he can sing it completely below the break (second passsagio).. At 440Hz he has to shift towards head resonance.. "change register"..Warning the video quality is really bad...

just compare the money note at 15.10 (432Hz ) to 20.47 (440Hz).. This is the flip note of F#4/F#5 (tenor/soprano)...
THis forced early transition when A4 is tuned to 440Hz is what makes less trained singers "pull chest" and "scream" on high notes.. lower the pitch to 431Hz (-35.88 cents) and the phenomen is basically eliminated.. And there is no need to lower the song the extra 64 cents to get to G#4=415.3Hz (-100 cents)...
