Double Bass Drop in amplified volume

Hey All,

I'm having an issue with my amplified volume dropping by around 50% halfway through the jam session. I'm running my fishman full circle into an AI clarus, into an AI upshot cab. I'm wondering if others have experienced this, and which component might be responsible for the drop off in volume. It isn't accompanied by any static or distortion to the signal whatsoever. Sometimes the sound pops back after a little while, but generally it drops off and stays off.

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!

Happened to me with old EBS amp, uncontrolled volume drops. Found out the send/return jacks in the amp were corroded, creating a cold connection from time to time (or what). Cleaning the connectors helped... for a time.

Sounds more like the amp to me.

try a different amp to isolate if pickup or amp. but if it only happens when you have been playing for a length of time, that signals an amp issue. but best to confirm before replacing anything.

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking it is an issue between the cab and the amp. I think I'm pushing the cab too hard. I really crank the volume on the amp since the cab is tiny. I'm gonna try to swap the upshot with an SWR Goliath Jr (400w, 2x10) and see if the issue persists.

I experienced this from pushing a my cabinets at a relatively loud level for three hours on an electric gig. During the last set, it was likely the voice coil heating up.
