Drop in replacement pickups

Hi,
I am looking for some replacement pickups for my Ibanez BTB 5 string. The only problem is that I can't find any that are the right size (they are either too small or too wide) and I really don't want to have to route chunks out of my bass.

The current pickups are bartolini mk2 soapbars measuring approx 128mm by 30mm.

I would prefer pickups that are very versatile and are able to get a good metal tone as well as being able to go to a smooth, warm tone for stuff I play in the school concert band.

I have looked so far at Shadowsky, EMG, MEC, SGD, Bartolini and Nordstrand and found nothing that fits!:(

Can anyone help me?

The MK2s are Bart P5 size (127mm X 31mm).

The closest thing I have is the Link Removed size which is 108mm X 31mm. You wouldn't have to rout, but there would be a 10mm gap on either end.

If you don't mind the gap, the Link Removed pickups will get the tones you are looking for.

Why can't all soapbar pickups be a set size!:bawl:

Because these are proprietary Bart sizes. All pickups start out being proprietary, until they are popular and then other people come out with replacements.

Bart has a zillion and one models.

I guess what I could do is get some smaller pickups but put a block of rose wood/ purple heart etc. each side.

That would do it, and it's not a very big gap... 10mm on each side.
