Drop tuning TI flats

I love the tone of TI flats. They have a singing quality in the mid-range.

But I also like to drop tune my precision 1(D) or 1.5(C#) STEP. With TIs, 1 step rattles, 1.5 step is unusable. I don't want to play with super high action either.

Anybody play TIs drop tuned? No rattles?
Any other suggestions for musical flats? Dry thump is good, but since I know that a bass can also sing, I want both - thump and voice.

I have occasionally used TI flats with a hipshot D tuner. Down to D. I guess the setup was good, bc I never got fret rattle. The strings are soft enough that if you set them up with enough relief they are still easily fretted (or down tuned).
