Drum machine programming

Hi, hope this is in the right forum....

So I have downloaded and installed Hydrogen. The technical aspect of the programming is simple and straight forward, but the what really stumps me.

I want to augment my home playing / practicing and combine it with a better understanding of rhythmic patterns.

I am somewhat rhythmically challenged, which for a bassist is not a good thing...

Is there a resource, where I can find simple drum patterns for Jazz and Funk?
Transcribing them from records is definitely way beyond my rhythmic skills !! Transcribing the bass parts is where the fun is...

Hi--

Can't help you with a collection of simple patterns, but I ran into the same issue when I was starting to program metal drum parts. My strategy for transcribing patterns is to do the bass drum first, then the snare, then the high hat, then toms, then the other cymbals. If you try to listen to only one part of the drum kit at a time and you go measure by measure, it's not so bad. This has helped my understanding of drum patterns far more than finding pre-programmed patterns would have.
