DS-1 mod help

OK I seriously need help modding my DS-1. First things first, I saw on youtube a mod that just took out the D5 and D4, I tried it and found it ok. Somehow the D1 snapped in half and I took that out, and now it doesn't work. So what I need to know is, one the stock value of D1, and if you have done any of your own mods. I really would like to see the things I can do to it. Also if there is a popular mod that sounds awesome I would like to hear about it. Thanks!

I did the Monte Allums mods. Sounds amazing and was simple to do, but I'm really not a big fuzz bass guy.

OK, so during school I was wondering, will putting in LED's in place of regular diodes give me a more colorful tone. Alright lets stay serious, I really messed up this time. I wanted to experiment and put some different resistors and diodes in and I totally messed it up. I just want to take everything out and put in new parts, so I will need easy to follow schematics. Thanks

hey I don't know everything about this subject. I understand soldering I just need help. I really want to know how to make pedals from I guess you could say scratch. I would need some bread board though.

diodes are directioal, which means if you solder in an LED or diode backwards, it won't work. Try switching the diode around that you replaced before it quit working.
