Duff McKagan Bass

P Bass Specials are passive too (I have a Squire). They have the P pup and J pup. I debating about modding mine Squire or selling it and getting a Japan Jazz Bass deluxe (Duff machine) But if mine sound pretty much the same then I'll just mod it and save some money. I'm thinking Dimarzio dp126 pups.

Anyone knows where to find a detailed picture of the decals Duff used to put on his basses???

I´m particullary interested in a picture (or the decal itself) of one that looks like a heart with a dagger going throug it...

He also had a pinup girl, a red skull or the "no fear" logo.

My Fender Duff model is coming... arriving in 2 weeks!

See ya,
Fernando

My Peavey Scorpio bass has the P + J pickup configuration (Seymour Duncan Bass-lines) and it sounds great with just a touch of J (bridge) pickup dialed in, otherwise it starts sounding thin. Might be a cancellation thing (Bass Gear reference).
Anyhow, if you can get that “Night Train” tone from the DUFF bass then I’m a big fan!

I've seen duff's exact skull sticker on ebay from time to time. I don't know about the others, just have to look around I'm guessing.

Consider Seymour Duncan Bass-lines PU's. I love them on my Scorpio. Thunderous, fat, clear, not noisey. Great rock PU's.
