dummy speaker/load for all valve SVT

Alright, so as me and my band mates were recording a demo the other day, and I thought to my self "damn, it would be waaay cool to get a 'dummy' speaker and crank the SVT"... but then I thought "Whoa there, if I did that we may not have to spend cash to go to a studio (to properly isolate the drums mics from my notoriously loud SVT)

Is there such a thing??? I was hoping I could take the direct out of the amplifier and reamp it later to get the sound of my speakers- Can someone with some experience chime in?

8 Ohm 200W resistor:

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Buy two of them, wire them in parallel and voila.

Amp techs use this kind of thing all the time to present a speaker load to an amp while they bias.

They will get hella hot, so careful what you mount them to.

Or... ask around and see if someone has a B15N from the 70s. The direct out works on those while on standby.

Would 2 of these cover it even if this is for a 300+ tube watt amp??? Looks sweet- cant wait to try it out

what does this mean, I found it on the comments section of this product

"I bought four of these loads to create one LARGE 8 ohm LOAD, and two 4 ohms loads on the same 1/4" thick aluminum baseplate for a 200/200W stereo amp. They require a much larger heat sink fixture to handle/dissipate power for any length of time. You will need to DOUBLE the power capability for you amp, since the resistance of these loads will drift when they heat-up. Provide enough heatsink area with forced air cooling and they will work ok."

These guys are going to have to resist the power for quite a while, and with so much wattage, I can see them gettin real hot! any way around that?

And double to power capability of your amp? What???

yes, i think your clear path is to just record the DI (straight out of your bass -- or your floor stuff) playing with the band, then re-amp later with that thing up as loud as you want it!

i love reamping. it's always fun (and a great learning experience) to be able to mess with your amp settings while you are listening to yourself play.
