I was talking with the president of Telefunken at the AES convention a few years ago and he gave me a sample pack of six styles of the graphite picks. He told me that they (Telefunken) were the only ones that got the formulation right, that they had gone and reverse-engineered the old Adamas picks and that Dunlop had not. He was quite proud of them.

So I read that Mike Gordon uses a dunlop 1.5 graphite pick. All I see are the Adamas Graphite that are 2mm. Am I missing something?

I use the Adamas and I love them, even though they are 2mm. Works great for me. But I may try the Telefunken that another person posted about. I looked at em and wasn't sure about the triangle shape... But It won't hurt to try them for that price.

There are at least six different shapes/sizes/gauges of the Telefunken picks. Some have more rounded edges, some are more traditionally flat, etc.

Personally I dont buy into the Telefunken concept about being "more genuine", as they you may notice they are all called "graphite enriched Delrin", thus a plastic mix. Adamas seem to be supremely strong and brittle, which leads me to believe its either pure or higher graphite content. I stick with those for doing the Gordon/Lesh thing.
I seriously doubt any human can hear the difference, especially live, seems like cork-sniffer territory.

I will add that i have found Primetone picks to overall superior quality for guitar, but their polycarbonate picks seem to evoke "carbon" in name only, polycarbonate being defined as an "amorphous thermoplastic"
