Hey TBer's, Thought I would share my experience with Dunlop nickel plated steel rounds. I have been trying to find the right strings for my p-bass,(I love the round wound tone but not all the clank) I have tried DR,Daddario,Dean Markley,Fender but they were all to clanky on my Fender P-bass. I found that most of my usable tone would come with my tone knob rolled off.
The Dunlops have the zing of steels with minimal clank. I am finally able to use my "TONE KNOB" (yeah!!). I do not have to cut the tone to minimize clank. The tension on these strings are low but not like DR's. The tone is very thick and punchy with a little zing-great harmonics as well. I have only had them on for a day so no comment on lasting quality. They are soft beneath the fingers too. Overall I am very happy with these strings and for 20 bucks ya cant beat em'. If you have not tried these strings yet give em' a whirl!!!
