Early 89-90 Warwick thumb bass question

Hi everybody !!
I have a quick question and I need help from some of you early vintage Warwick Thumb bass lovers :

I have a late 80's Warwick thumb bass 4 string ; it has EMG pickups and a 2 band MEC Preamp; the volume knob does NOT have the push/Pull option! When was this option implemented ?
I know it bypasses the preamp, but my question is when did Warwick start adding that option ?
I ask you because I sold the bass and the buyer wants to return it because he claims the electronics are not original !! I know they are original!!! I have no doubt they are because I bought the bass from a person who bought it new...
Please help....
Here's a picture of the preamp too; he says the preamp is MEC so therefore the pickups can't be EMG!!
He also says that the preamp is loose in the cavity and that should never be!!
Lol
Honestly I think the guy is wrong ! I have never seen anybody so problematic in a bass sale!!
Please help if you know the answer .

Thanks !!

Eduardo Lalo Garcia

Not sure when the push/pull was added, but before MEC pups existed, early Warwicks came stock with EMG or Bartolini pups. I have previously owned a few late 80's / early 90's Wicks that came stock with EMG / Bart pups.
