Hello all:
I agree that the OP was most likely referring to learning fastest to get going. Having been an experienced musician for the last 26 years..(I started at 3 months...LOL!) I didn't understand that easy is not a word you can find in the MUSICIAN'S dictionary, until I was much older than my formative teenage years (at the time.)
EASY-is a relative term. There's no easy in music at all. There is room for easy/medium/hard/difficult/plain and simple impossible...in any aspect of music when it comes to song selection. If you play any instrument-each has its own nuances, and thus it is unfair to even begin to apply the word: easy to learning HOW to play any of them.
I honestly think that beginning to apply the word EASY only comes after much diligence, hard work, and sacrifice that come along with years of experience. It is a perception only classified by your level of expertise. Other than that, it's hard to become an apprentice, challenging to become a novice, difficult to become an expert, and impossible to become a Master of anything.
And I still find it awesome to believe I can call myself a musician.
