Easiest OBP preamp to install in Ray4

I’m looking for a preamp and pickup that are easy to install in a Sterling Ray 4. I’ve never had the best luck with soldering, so the less I have to do, the better. ideal would be a pre wired control plate that I could drop in.

I’ve had good luck with EMG’s no-solder systems before, but I saw on Lobster’s video that he had cut out material to get the BQ system to fit.

This isn’t for my primary bass, so even better if it isn’t terribly expensive.

Thanks for any suggestions

Ray-4 cavity is pretty small so there is risk of whatever you get not fitting in. Your non-desire to solder, further complicates your search. You can look into Nordstrand 2-band. It might be small enough to fit. I am pretty sure you will need to solder and replace the pot that has the stock preamp attached to it.
