Easing into retirement

Hello fellow bassists!

I have been playing bass since college, but wasn't able to get a band going until after our kids were grown. Lots of jamming in the living room before that. I've dabble with writing basslines for songwriters, and I've also messes around with a fretless, which is a lot of fun, but requires a lot of concentration.

Retirement is approaching. Band gigs are getting harder to book, and my bandmates are getting older - I'm not! I mainly signed up here to sell some of my gear - I don't need 5 basses and 3 amps any more. But I'm happy to chat with other musicians, so perhaps I'll stay on for a while.

I don’t doubt they are nice basses. But how is it possible that you have 14 basses all with sentimental value. I just can’t conceive this.

You would think! But, each one has some sort of emotional connection. (The really good times I had with my daughter with a couple of P basses, etc. . . )

If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought ONE P and ONE J and put a lid on it
