EB volume into expression. Is it really this easy?

Mostly what I've seen about modding an EB volume pedal into an expression pedal involved taking the pedal apart. But then I just stubbled on this link [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
It says all you have to do is get an insert cable and plug the monos into the input and out put and the stereo into the exp input on your pedal.
Will that really work? That would make things a lot easier.

I don't recall exactly but I think it's easier than that.

Yep. That is pretty much how you do it. There may be issues with the sweep range due to the pot value in the VP, but it shouldn't be a major problem.

It will work fine with some devices, but the pots are audio taper so most of the range will be at one end of the sweep. Changing the pot to a linear taper of a more appropriate value and wiring up a TRS jack yields better results.
