In 1966 Gibson moved to set neck, which would be possible for this neck...which then would have been reshaped for a bolt on neck joint. I don't think this guy is manufacturing fakes, but over charging for some stuff.
is if the person who removed the wings off the 'bird also cut down the neck-thru to the shape of a bolt on. What a mutt of a neck that would result in! I think I'll go along with the poster who opinionated: firewood! And these items are just what showed up in my saved searches email.

Or how about a 1958 Gibson Les Paul case for the low low price of only $9,999.

I know it sounds crazy, but a 58 LP with a non-original case drops in value significantly, so to the guy who has a 58, a original case can make a $15k-$20k difference in value - so a $10k case is actually a sound financial investment.
Anybody see that this supposedly original (except for the repaired part)neck from a 60's T bird appears to be a bolt on? The original reverse T birds were neck thru, just like todays. The non-reverse T birds were glue on necks. Gibson never made a T bird with a bolt on neck (except the present day Epi).
It says right in the ad that it's been hacked off. Whoever said it is right, however; there is not enough heel to make a bolt-on. That neck is about as useless as mesh raingear.
I don't know about a $20,000 change in value; I don't think I've ever seen a Gibson go for that much, unless it was previously owned by someone famous.
I mean, I know a 59' is worth some greenback, but not enough to where a 59' case would make that much of a difference (maybe a $3000 difference or so, but......)

I apologise for going a bit OT, but I don't quite understand what you're getting at here![]()

Hold on...here's a "cheap one'. Non original plastic and a resprayed neck cut nearly $100k off the price of this one -

Still think an original case won't increase the value by $15k-$20k ? Plastic (pickguard, switch tip, switch ring, jack plate) and a respray killed off almost $100k in value on one of the LPs above.
I stand corrected. However, when you consider the extremely small market for those items, and the fact that to the average Joe those items aren't worth 1/10th of what they're listed as, it is likely that you may never even sell the item.
Or maybe its the sellers that do.
