Ebay surprise? Nordstrands or stock pups, HELP

I got a '62 RI fretless on EBay. The description said it has an Audere pre-amp (it does, that was easy) and Nordstrand hum cancelling pickups. I'm not so sure about whether it does or not, heres why: I looked at the pups on Nordstrand's site, they seem to be segmented in the middle ( that is hum cancelling as far as I know), but mine are not. In fact they look EXACTLY like my stock Marcus Miller pickups. Could that be just the covers? I havn't unstrung the bass and removed the pickups to see for myself because I don't want to mess anything up. Do you think I got ripped off? The guy said he would include the original electronics also, and he didn't do that. So I'm wondering if he may have put the stock pups back in and kept the Nordy's. I don't want to email the guy two months after the purchase unless I have good reason. What would you do?

Cool, sorry if I wasted your time. I've never really messed with any pickups and I don't exactly have the Midas touch with electronics, so as dumb (or wussy) as it may sound, I'm afraid to take unfamiliar things apart. As for the time factor, I never compared the pups to the MM because i didn't notice the identical covers until I saw both basses right next to each other. Thanks for setting me straight, I'm pretty sure they are Nordy's. Next time I change the strings I may muster the sack to check them out.

The covers are not split, you can even put the nordstrands in the old pickup covers actually so the only way of knowing is removing them. Are your pickups humming?

Covers are just a plastic shell, you can have the same set of covers and change the pickup inside for 50 different brands if you like and it will still look the same.
