so ibought this what was surely to be an Awesome cab. Vintage 71 ampeg 810!

I tell this guy ill be there sunday to pick it up and pay for it (i had won the auction) and then he emails me and says he sold it??

can he do that?
I mean... I bought it off the auction and won fair and square..

is there somethingi can do to get the cab ??

I doubt you'll get the cabinet. I'd leave him feedback so bad that he'll have to start a new eBay account if he ever wants to sell anything again. Also, you should claim fraud with eBay and maybe get him kicked off.

And, post his information here so anybody in the future searching for info on the guy might find it on google. TalkBass forums are pretty well indexed by Google.

It's against eBay rules. If he sells outside eBay, he's to remove the listing before it closes. When it does close and you win, you are entitled (through eBay) to that cabinet.

Perhaps he told you it was sold because he didn't feel your bid was high enough? Also against the rules.

i see many folks say in the listing that the item is being offered locally and may be removed b/c of local sale. i think it is a cop-out way of not selling b/c it did not meet their minumum price. instead of settting a reserve that bumps up their fees, they just pull a stunt like this. sorry to hear such.....

that is a rough one, I had an auction for some bass picups, after the auction closed the winning bidder emailed me that he didn't want the pickups because he found a set at his local music store, so, I left negative feedback for him. Needless to say I got a rather scathing email from him telling me about how he didn't want the picups anymore...
I say that if you are the winning bidder or the seller once that auction is closed you have enterd a contract with that person, and you can't back out.

This is horrible.. Now he's sending ''copies'' of all the messages he sent me, Oh! and did i mention that i have no record of them? not in my email or my ebay account. He could have been honest i woudl have understood..

This situation sucks.. but i dont want to take the cab from the lucky guy that got it. That wouldnt' be fair. I just either want him to pay for it or something maybe get his account deleted or something.

haha probably, i don't expect to get the cabinet back. not only do i not expect it i wouldn't want it. Some lucky sap has it now i wouldn't want to take it from her/him.

anyway.. that's his account and mine and ill leave him negative feedback and i did report him to ebay hopefully they'll respond or something
