EBMM HYBRID SLINKY FLATWOUND WOW!!

Went to Guitar Center to get some DR Flats, they didn't have a lot options so I went with was available, some EBMM flats I have never heard off or read any reviews but WTH let's try them and see how it goes.
Long story short put them on my Pbass and I was just blown away by them, the feel and sound just amazing , I think I just found my tone

Anyone else out there with a similar experience?

What's hybrid about them?

Congratulations!!

On my opinion, The 4 string set just made the jazz bass sound juicy-meaty along with tight tone which made you jazz bass stand out from mix when both pickups engage.

The 5 string set has very well string to string tone balance. Both EB cobalt flat and traditional group flat has the best solid tone 130B compare to ECB chrome , DR legend, Dunlop flat B string even GHS Pressure wound 128B string!!!!

Have to mention that both EB flat sound nothing like traditional flat vibe, even group flat, they still sound like Fender 9050 with more MID tone character and dry (less open sounding) vibe.

Yep several times with flats. IMO it's a bad sign when flats sound great straight up. I need flats to sound clanky and weird when they're new, then I know that all I have to do is wait until they are just right. I remember when I tried Sadowsky Black Label Flats and the very first play they sounded amazing and my heart sank. Within a fortnight they sounded like I was playing a kick drum.

Your experience won't happen on EB Cobalt flat. I have a 11 months old 2814 set on my Cort GB74JJ(sold a week ago) and a months old 2814 on another Bacchus Jazz bass. The old set still has right amount of bright and bite compare to fresh set, the MID voice has nice punch, and she has no THUMBY or BLOMMY tone at all...... the E string still sound tight ,focus and sound even with the rest.
