EBMM Sterling Question - Best Year?

My Sterling was built in 2008 or so. There is a post in the owners thread about it.
What I like about it:
1- The 3-way selector with the humbucker and phantom coil gets a nice range of sounds.
2- The neck is fast with the jazz nut profile and the oil/wax finish on the back.
3- It's relatively light compared to my other basses which is a plus at my age.
4- The active preamp. I can finally see use for the tone knobs for once, and don't have to get back to the amp for adjustments, as the preamp is effective on the bass. I mentioned this in a worship thread that I set the amp bass and treble straight up, and the mid slightly back, and leave it. I adjust using the tone knobs on the bass. I rarely touched the tone knob on the pbass.
When I was shopping for another bass in 2015, I noticed that EBMM basses were much more refined than Fender MIA. EB puts in more effort with finishing the frets than Fender.
I would like to add a Stingray SLO special, but will likely add a Ric beforehand.

As others have said, EBMMs are very consistent. I've owned a bunch of them (still have 4) and never had a bad one. My fretless Sterling is a '98, but I also own a 2006 Stingray, 2014 Bongo and 2014 Big Al. They're all great.
There's been nothing but great feedback so far. I knew this would be a difficult choice, and it sounds like I can't go wrong with any of them. If anybody has anything else to add, please feel free! Thanks again!
