EBS 410 Classic?

I'm thinking about ordering an EBS 410 Classic cab. I like the idea of a 4 ohm stand alone 410 cab rated at 500 watts or more. The Tolex covering also helps ;). There are no local dealers, so I need to rely on reviews. I'm looking to replace my 410HLF...just not digging that cab...sounds too dark and muffled for me. I searched and came up with very little info on the EBS cab, so I'm hoping to hear from people who've played through one. I like a warm yet punchy sound. I'll be using a 700RBII and 5 string basses with the new cab, and be playing classic rock and metal.

I'm also open to other ideas for a 4 ohm 410 cab rated at 500 watts or more. Tons of 8 ohm cabs out there, but I'm looking specifically for a 4 ohm cab.

I had 2 Ebs 410 classic cabs this year. In my opinion they sound much less modern/hifi sounding than the Ampegs. The Ebs Classic cab resale value is very low so im sure you can find a great deal on them. There are a few drifting around the Nyc area that ive seen in recent months.

I'm definetely not looking for a modern sound, which is one reason I'm drawn to the EBS Classic. How did you feel about the quality of the cab and speakers? I have read that the cab isn't very loud compared to some others, and the freq range is 55hz-16khz. Did it handle the lows well in real life situations? My 410HLF went almost too low...to the point of muddying up the sound without specific EQ adjustments.

Quality was very good and yes it was very loud. I didnt have any problems with it. I play 6 string so it handled the lows and highs very well. I sold it because I needed the cash otherwise I would still have it. At the time I was using an Avalon U5-power amp-Ebs cabs.

Thanks. I also just saw the Ashdown ABM 414T. That is a 4ohm cab that might fit my needs, but again no darn local dealer. Anyone have info on this Ashdown cab, or maybe even experience A/Bing the two cabs?
