I hadn't thought about this record for awhile. I have always loved how Eddie Guagua Rivera makes everything possible.

The best I've heard from Eddie Gua Gua Rivera is on a live album called "Live at Quad" by Larry Harlow. Amazing bassist!
Eddie gua gua passed this week after a long battle with an illness. His musicality and beautiful spirit will be sorely missed. His family thanks all for keeping him in there thoughts. Rene Lopez.
Somehow I forgot to mention Eddie Gua Gua Rivera's passing here on Talkbass. One of the most important bassists of Latin music, he's credited on more than 1,000 recordings.

Eddie Gua Gua Rivera was a very prolific Latin jazz bassist. I found his success through some albums he played on by saxophonist Gato Barbieri.
He was known for his acoustic bass techniques, but he mostly played a Fender Precision Bass and an Alembic bass through Ampeg amps.
He is playing a Roger Sadowsky bass in this picture.

Really digging the fairly "out" piano/bass interplay from 5:00 on . . .
Gua Gua served with me in the 84th Army band in Fulda Germany in 1969. What a blast he was !! Incredible person to know and share his special gifts of music and humanity. Still missing you my dear friend. RIP
