Long story short, bought a WT-400 from the forums here, the guy only had it for 2 years, but there were previous owners. Unfortunately, it died three weeks into me using it, and I took it to a local guy who said it was pretty much done for, due to multiple(3-5) inefficient techs working on it and replacing components improperly. Didn't even charge me to look at it, he felt so bad.
However, both the Eden forums and their customer support came through to me. In the span of a day, and only an hour after posting some pictures of the insides, I was set up and sending off my amp to the Eden factory.
When I found out how much it would cost to repair at the factory(90 dollars, includes shipping back), I was floored. To send it anywhere else, it would have been wayyyy more expensive. On top of that, I was fearing I would have to get a new preamp board(280 dollars). This was my main dilemma, there was no way I could afford that on top of the repair charge. However, both Tim (SMU573 on the forums there), Ryan, and an unknown tech(thanks!) all looked at the pictures as soon as I sent them, and reassured me all of the components would be easily replaced, and if it came down to a new board, the tech said he would put it in under the 90 dollar repair charge! I was floored, and my situation had been resolved. It'll be about 3-5 weeks before I get it back, but that's perfectly fine and understandable. As long as it's back then
I just wanted to post this to show an excellent case of care from this great company. I was first sold on the sound, but now I'm sold on the service. I've heard that Eden has had a bad rap on their service around here, and it's understandable. I'd be mad to, but they have gone through a lot of changes over the years, for better or worse. However, from what I've experienced and heard from others, they've really gone beyond the call of duty to correct any problems, even when they don't necessarily have to (considering my amp has had multiple previous owners since 96). I know Lane is also a saint over there too.
Thanks for reading everyone, take it easy.
