EDEN D410T Speaker Replacement

Does anyone know if the EC-1060F speaker, which can no longer be found can be replaced simply with the EC-1060XL ? I have an opportunity to pick up an Eden D410T cab, but am thinking its a dead end if the speakers can never be replaced since nobody sells them (nor can the recone kits be found)? Is this still a viable cabinet to own? I dont want to buy a cabinet that I have to throw away if I blow a speaker.

I don't see what the trouble is. It's a good cabinet from what I have read - I have no personal experience of Eden stuff. The same thinking applies to any manufacturers products. After time spares stop being stocked and the unit no longer supported and becomes a "legacy" product.

This begs the question: do you have a history of blowing drivers?? :)

I had a D210T and a driver popped. I e-mailed Eden, they were helpfull, however they informed me that the driver for the D series cabs are no longer in profuction. They reccomended retrofitting both drivers with the same drivers in the XLT cab. I did some research and found thet several people did this exact same thing with good results. The new drivers are actually made by Eminence for Eden.

I ordered the same impediance speakers as were in my cab (I think they were 16 ohms) and installed them when they arrived. They sounded great but not the same as the D drivers, they have a mid bass hump like the XLT and they are way more effecient - plus they hanlde more power.

I actually prefer the XLT drivers in the D cab, the only problem is it is pricey to replace four drivers.

Thanks- very helpful! I can take either the Eden D410T or for roughly the same money, an Aguilar S410. Are these two cabs pretty much equivalent?

I think the s410 cabinet is osb/mdf vs plywood for the Eden. That alone would be a deal breaker for me if I was gigging with it a lot.

Most of the Aguilar cabs I've heard are a bit more "aggressive" sounding than the Eden d410xlt cabinet that I own.
