The WT-405 gives up more punch and pronounced articulation at low-med volumes than any other amp I've ever played. After getting some learning done about how to set it, I'm pretty happy with it.

Played the 405 last night at an outdoor FOH show; Active Squire Jazz 5-string into the WT 405, and 2x 115 TL-606 cabs, Emi Kappalite 3015 drivers.
The Squire was very true to a typical old-school Jazz Bass tone (thinking Led Zep, that era here). Don't know how to pin down which component brought that out with such aplomb though, since all but the cabs are still new to me... might have been the active preamp, might have been the clean, full and precise character of the amp.
The jury is still out, frankly. But there's a lot to like about this head, and I'm enjoying using it. No reason to want to move it, but I'm still thinking of going back to the GK, which I also really like! But if I can be happy, there's where I'll let it lay. Too many choices in the world, so I'll go play instead.

Please tell me what you've learned about getting the tone and punch at lower volume. I have a WT400. I like it but have the same issue as you.
Mostly it's been about pulling the Enhance and Compressor right to zero. I'm not using the Dynamic Boost toggles at all now, and I have the 'Warm' toggle trim-pot set about 3/4 of the way 'up', but might not even use it- depends on the room/band/bass/etc...
The 405 has a choice of two center freqs for Mid eq, and I most often use the 550Hz, and set it about 1 O'Clock. But whatever my preference is for EQ, the most important part has been to dial out Enhance and Comp.
Oh yeah- Gain lives at around 3 O'Clock... not using the High Gain toggle.
That's mostly it. What do you have for speakers?
Hmm. I keep my gain at about 11:00 or 12:00. Above that starts to sound a little furry. It also LOUD. I'll try your settings
For speakers it all depends on the gig. UL310, UL112/UL110 stack. One or two Berg AE210's, and soon (I hope) a Baer ML112. The Eden has a more supportive thing than almost any other amp I've used. I'm guessing it comes from the preamp.
I like a little 'wool' in my sound, so I kind of 'go there'! I agree about the supportive thing, I find it very controlled, well-ordered sounding. That is quite different that GK, which has more inherent 'edge' to it I think. This amp is great for my Portuguese festival band, but I think I like the GK for the rock gigs.
More on that... and post again on what you find there with the WT 400. Is that the same control layout as the WT 405?
Why don't you try using just one rig for a while? You can get your amp tweaked in with a consistent set of components. After you find the 'magic spot' on your front panel, then it'll be easier to tweak into the next cab, etc.
Me too- paid a TBer for WT-330 earlier today; I'm THRILLED. Had a CXC-110(40lb WT-330+1x10 combo)some years ago, sold it for reasons ENTIRELY unrelated to it's performance and have SORELY missed it ever since.
The first & lasting impression was the feeling of having a number of blankets pulled off my rig- I could hear(& thus correct)my abundant & previously unheard mistakes.
Me too- paid a TBer for WT-330 earlier today; I'm THRILLED. Had a CXC-110(40lb WT-330+1x10 combo)some years ago, sold it for reasons ENTIRELY unrelated to it's performance and have SORELY missed it ever since.
The first & lasting impression was the feeling of having a number of blankets pulled off my rig- I could hear(& thus correct)my abundant & previously unheard mistakes.

Guys, as I'm sure you well know the 405 and 400 are different animals altogether.
Both great amps but different EQ sections.
I've owned both ( in different watt ratings. WT500, 550, Wt330) and where I likes the 330 I felt it was not as warm as the 550.
I like the EQ better on the 550 as opposed to the 405 but the 405 sounded better at lower volumes to me via the boost buttons. I had not one problem with the 330 and I pushed it hard at 2ohms to keep up with a loud rock band. I wanted more headroom and went to the 550, plus I felt (as said before) it was warmer sounding with a little more grit/bite than the 330.
Anyhow you can't go wrong with either Eden WT series, I'd really like to have a WT400 just 'cuz they are supposed to be the warmest of all the Eden's ever made. So they say.
As far as naked goes ..... Yeah,watch those clams! Eden's will make you heard, good and bad.

Thanks for the insight WG. And yes... last weekend's gig was indeed an expose of exactly where I was at in my performance!
I have an Eden Wt-800C, which is of the new era as far as i know. I mostly run it on one side at 8 ohms through my Eden D410T cabinet. I sometimes run it with two D410T's and that pushing 1100 watts through 4 ohms bridged. It definitely has a beastly sound, but with lots of clarity. Definitely a very balanced tone, and for me it works in all applications. I think these heads are designed to work very optimally with the cabinets.
