Eden WT330 to 400 upgrade

Hey,
I have an Eden amp that began as a WT330, and then was upgraded to the 405. Would they have changed the EQ stuff as well? It might be moot, because I think the 405 doesn't have the 400's rep as the warmest amp available, but maybe someone knows a lot about the upgrades they did and wants to show off/educate.

My understanding is that this upgrade, 330 to 405 (not to 400 as the thread title states) only entails changing the power section, bringing it up to the higher power level of the 405. EQ should not have changed, unless I'm mistaken.

Cheers,
Liam

The Eden WT-400 has a 7025 tube in the pre-amp and five-band EQ (3 bands semi-parametric).

The Eden WT-330 is all solid state, with the "Golden Ear" chip used in Neve mix boards and three bands of EQ (with a switchable mid-range frequency); it also has a separate compression control. The upgrade to the WT-405 involves increasing the output power of the amplifier section, from 330 watts (at 4 ohms) to 405 watts (at 4 ohms). There are, to my knowledge, no alterations to the pre-amp or EQ involved in the upgrade..

So the WT-400 pre-amp is not the same design, and therefore does not sound the same, as the WT-330 (or the upgrade to a WT-405). That said, there are some who actually prefer the sound of the WT-405 over the WT-400.
