EDEN WT550 and Aguilar DB210 a good match?

Hi guys,

im thinking on upgrading my rig and I fancy getting some of the higher end gear to replace my ashdown. After researching I have decided i would like to get the EDEN WT550 and an Aguilar DB210 cab.

I dont like modern, all low end and treble, scooped mid sounds, so im a little bit worried that this is the sound i will get from the eden. However i do imagine that you could get any sound you want from it by using the super sensitive eq section.

I know the db cabs have a boosted mid range to help them punch through so this is why i have been drawn to them. I think they look super cool too which is a plus!

I dont need a huge rig as i always play with pa support, and the small size of the aguilar cabs and the head are abig plus as somtimes i play on very small stages.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks!

I'm going to chime in because you're looking at the Aguilar DB series cabinets. These really sound like a good cab for you. They have a more pronounced midrange, in comparison to the GS112s (I dunno if you've heard them, but they have more of a scooped sound naturally).

I can't comment on the Eden XLT vs. XST. I've only played the XLT, and it's really great.

Just don't discount the Aggy DB's, they just might give you what you want.

I'll add my opinion to this mix, because I have almost the exact setup you're thinking about. I have the Eden WT550, with Aguilar GS210 and GS115 cabinets. The GS series is being discontinued by Aguilar, at least in the models that I have. I had first tried the WT550 with the Aguilar GS2110 only. I didn't have enough low end and thickness for my taste. I added the Aguilar GS115 and have been delighted ever since.

When I purchased my GS210, the store offered Aguilar and Epifani cabs but not the Eden. After I had both cabs the same store added the Eden cabinets, so I haven't played through the Eden cabs. I can tell you that I'm very happy with the amp. The only issue I have with the amp is that the master volume knob makes some static noises while the volume is turned up or down. Some other 550 users have this same issue. I have no other complaints, and I would still purchase the amp again. My Aguilar speaker cabs are high quality, and I get any sound imaginable with my rig.

I hope this is helpful.
Regards,
Joel

Thanks for all ur opinions guys!

I think the aguilars are definately what im looking for, the main issue is what head to go for. I really need to test the gear out before buying, but sadly in northern ireland nowhere stocks this kind of equipment, so i will have to go to scotland or england to try this out.

Thats an interesting point about the eden, a few people on here have mentioned the volume knob problem and other issues with their amp, and to be honest i dont think i want to spend that kind of money on an amp which tends to have static noises in the tone controls etc. They cost £1000 in the uk, thats $1900!

I like the aguilar db750 head, but its just too big for my needs as im always going through a pa. Perhaps my money would be better invested in a good DI!
