Eden WTDI with power block - not working

I have a simple set up, tuner -> Boss ODB3 -> Eden WTDI. It works great with their individual power adapters, but not when I use a power block (Rockboard).

For testing purposes I am only using the tuner and WTDI. I plugged the Eden into the 18v and tuner in 9v. The signal is broken. As soon as I disconnect the power to the tuner, it starts working! What could cause the WTDI to stop working if it's using a shared power source? Does it have to be a completely isolated power supply?

Hi,
yes, it needs to be isolated. I never tried, but should also be possible with two diodes/rectifier.
But you need to consider the voltage drop of them.

Ok. I'll just use the separate power adapters since it's much cheaper than an isolated power supply. Thanks for the quick response. I was also a member at the Eden Forum.
