Double Bass Eden WTX500 with Double Bass, good idea?

Hey all, need some help...
I currently play through and old GK MB150E, 112, without an extension cabinet, but gigs are getting louder and I'm looking for something portable, powerful, but tonewise for the double bass.

Does anybody have a thought on the Eden WTX500, 500w? Have you tried or have heard someone playing with? Which cab setup would be the ideal to pair with?
Or would it be better (at least cheaper) to keep the GK MB150E and get an extension cab? what cab for example?

Gigs I play are 60% double bass, 40% PBass. Jazz, Brazilan Music instrumental and with singers, Rock, Pop, Gospel, etc.

PS: Here in Brazil it's just ridiculously expensive and hard to find good options, so I'm asking about Eden WTX500 because there is a possible ongoing trade.
(For curiosity and comparrison, here 1 dollar = 3 reais, medium wage for a musician is 2500 reais/month, or, 830 dollars/ month... )

I didn't use that model but I've always liked my Eden. Great amps but try to play it before you decide. They have a coarseness to the tone that not everyone likes.

I owned two Eden amps and loved the EQ & power. I'm not sure of the input specs, but you might need a preamp depending on your pickup.

One thing I like about the WTX500 for doubling is the 1/4" aux inputs. You could put your electric into the main input and get an upright friendly preamp to go into the aux in.

What pickup and/or pre are you using? I can't find anything on the imput impedance for the eden wtx amplifiers. I love my old wt300 because of the great eq options and the high impedance. I guess you probably need a pre that is dedicated to db for the wtx to work really well.

According to some searches I did, the Eden is reported to have a 1 Mega-ohm input impedance. You could always contact Eden directly.

And I love my Eden WTDI for my upright and its Fishman Full Circle.

I used an extension speaker with a GK MB150 for years and it worked great. I used a Bag End 15", but many 8 ohm cabinets would do just as well.
This option has the advantage of being cheaper.
Extension adds 50 watts. The added speaker surface makes it sound like the wattage has doubled.
You put it 18 feet or so away from you to lessen feedback issues.
