Editing the title of a post

I posted a for sale in the for sale section for bass guitars. I believe it said, "Brooklyn Cherry Sunburst NS2 for Sale" or similar wording. After several replies, I realized that I did not say "Spector NS2," so that it won't show up if someone searches Spectors or scans the titles looking for a Spector.

I can't seem to figure out how to add "Spector" to the title. I was going to just post a new thread with the correct title, but I don't know if I am breaking the rules with 2 threads for a single item for sale. Perhaps there is a way to start a new one and merge the old one in, or a way to close the old one and replace it. Please advise. Thanks

To edit the title, you would use the "thread tools" menu at the top of the thread. If it doesn't allow you access for whatever reason, then the best thing to do would be to report the thread to the local forum moderators by clicking on the little "!" icon in the red triangle in the upper right of the first post. In this case, I went ahead and added the "Spector" in for you.

I thought I was losing my mind! I went back to my ad and saw that it DID say Brooklyn Spector. Why did I think I omitted "Spector" in the title. I figured I must be too tired to see straight, so I went back to delete this post asking how to add "Spector." You are really fast at solving things. Is it legitimate for you to bump it to the top so that it has a chance to be seen as a Spector bass for sale? Although you corrected the title, many who look at ads daily will not bother to go to the older ones way down on the list.
Thanks

I'm 97.9 percent sure your allowed to bump a post as many times as your heart desires as long as you don't go spamming it like crazy. Most people bump there threads at least one time a day (in classifieds) and if your really sneaky you can delete your bump post later. :ninja:
