Building new pedal board.
This was my plan for effects order:
Ernie Ball VP JR with thru-tone mod ( kind of like a little boost preamp, not sure, more of a guitar player thing I think. This is one of their early ones. Has upgraded pot and string as well).
Emma Discombobulator envelope filter
Micro Pog octaver
Tech 21 Red Ripper Distortion
Tech 21 Boost Chorus
Laney Secret Path reverb/delay
TC Ditto looper.

I think it makes sense but was considering volume pedal at end of chain.
Would love to get some opinions on this

I’d put the volume just before the looper so you can control the change of volume when switching effects on and off. You can control the volume going into the pedals with the knob on the bass.

I'd say stay flexible. See how pedals react to others. For me, first and foremost is noise floor. Isolated power (recommend Cioks DC7, BTW) and fresh patch cables (I personally like right-angled EBS or Hosa).

Then once noise is squashed, you're free to order them. With pedal boards remember the expression "in for penny, in for a pound". There will be R&D discoveries/heartbreak.

Just try. I recently threw the standards away.
And put them in an order that worked for me after some trying out and fiddling. I don't use that many. But still.

I'd go Volume> Ripper> POG> Discombobulator> Chorus> Reverb> Looper, and I would get a Compressor. Volume pedal at the end I would advise against, hence the compressor, to even things out, with the volume at the start of the chain to ensure you put into everything else however much volume you want, rather than trying to contain the loudness of a cacaphony. If that makes sense. I use compression after synth to tame some of those spikes before I send it into the vast chambers of reverb. The distortion> octave> env filter arrangement you have could give you those synthy sounds. But mess around with things. Accidents lead to incredible sonic adventures. For instance, David Gilmour or his tech plugged his guitar into the output of his wah pedal and they used the wonderful mistake to create the crazy whale sounds on the middle part of Echoes.

If you want to manually control the amount of grind from your ripper, a delay that repeats a swell or the perfect amount of gain for your filter put it at the front. If you just want a quiet knob, put it at the back.

There's good reason to be able to mute a board - swapping out a bad cable or pedal during a show, for example. If you had a tuner in your chain, you could use that at the end.

I'd put the volume AFTER the octave, octave pedals can be weird if not given proper volume. As you said last in the chain? Maybe right before the reverb so you can kill your signal but leave the reverb tails as you play. I'd even consider putting the Looper before the reverb as well. That way all of your signal can have verb, or you can create loops and verb them out.
