EH Bass Mono Synth - Flats or Rounds?

Wondering if anyone has experience playing both flats and rounds through a bass mono synth (or any bass synth) and how they compare? I'm thinking flats might work better in terms of synth tracking since they produce a purer fundamental.

I use a fender mustang pj with a foam mute and tapewound strings and it tracks perfect... Not sure that helped LOL!

It's not so much the string type, it's what your tone-control is set to. I find that a rolled off tone control, or an active treble control turned all the way down, helps a lot. That aside, since I already play keyboard bass, I have kind-of given up on the limited range and control the EHX pedal has.

I get your point about the limited range. And I'm not expecting to completely replicate or replace a keyboard bass. I just want to blend some of those synthy qualities into my tone. I see them as maybe two different philosophies. Relatively speaking, bass guitar has a limited tonal pallet. So it's more about expressiveness and which notes you play. Synth bass tends to be more about texture and tonal evolution. I guess I'm hoping to land somewhere in the middle of two paradigms.

i replaced that pedal with the C4 but i really liked it with my rounds (i'm a dedicated rounds guy). the mono synth tracks well (keeping in mind some technique).

i voted "makes no difference" even though i have no experience with that pedal using flats.
