Electra Pickup Replacement?

I just got an old(ish) Electra bass like this:
2273 Long Necker Bass

J bass style body but it has rectangular pickups that sit in pretty big/deep holes, here's a few picks of mine:

I am trying to figure out what might replace
them easily without pickguard mods etc. I had SD Quarter Pounders in a P bass before and really liked those... I want to get that same "beefy" sound out of this.

Also, seems like things aren't grounded currently, you can hear everything through these, like when you tap the body or even move the shoulder strap a little, etc.

The pick guard hole is about 1 1/14 wide X 2 7/8 tall, screw
holes about 3 1/4. The pickups themselves around about 1 1/14 wide X 2 3/4 tall... but also have 'tabs' that fit into the wood cavity.
