Electric problem?

Hi my fender jazz bass when plugged in makes a ticking sound when I touch the control panel any peticular reason for this to happen? Thanks.

Oh come on, learn to take a joke. And you were withholding information.

You also didn't answer my serious question - active or passive? Also ignored my advice that it's likely a bad cap.
I can take a joke I’m at work and just want it straight, I apologize for my rudeness, it’s active and I will take your advice on the cap and will check on it more later at home I’m sorry again man thanks for you’re helpful advice

man-alive- if ALL of US could be like this guy...hey I was rude, Im sorry. (I didnt think he was rude), but just the accepting that maybe he was wrong/rude, accepting it, apologizing and then thanking....I guess I should not be this impressed by this self awareness, but I am, and I certainly appreciate it.
 
I fixed a Strat that clicked loudly when touched with a hand or a pick. The internet suggested shieldind the control cavity and the back of the pick guard with copper tape. It worked, completely stopped the clicking. Just remembered this.
 
Keep the "bad capacitor" cause low on your list.
I only suggested it because I've experienced repeating "ticking" from a bad cap cycling, but that's normally with DC circuits, not AC signals like audio. But still could be happening here. Sounds just like that, tick... tick... tick..., as the cap fills up and then discharges. But like I said, there has to be DC current, I think, for that to be the case. But I'm no electronics expert, just a B.S. in college Physics that I've forgotten most of. In theory, I should be able to figure out how things work. Yeah. "In Theory, Theory and Practice are the same. In Practice, however, they are not." hehe

I’ve replaced “bad “capacitors in circuits where critical timing depends on their actual value.
Modern capacitors rarely go bad.

Well I'll admit my experience with ticking bad capacitors goes back to the 70s. Has cap quality really changed that much since then?

But who said OP's caps were "modern"?

Yes, component reliability has vastly improved over the years.
Application should be considered.
A motor starter capacitor works much harder than a passive filter capacitor.
My reference to “modern” takes in all the materials used after the paper capacitors in old radios and amplifiers.
