Is it not a good idea if you set it so it is almost always on?

Yea mines on squash so the light is on all the time and when its really working it just gets brighter, no worries.

Ive found that just turning the comp knob up too much kinda makes it worse. The subtle settings on this thing are what I love because it just takes my tone and makes it so deep and warm.

Thanks, I have mine set with LED and Normal, Compress at about 3 o'clock, Pre-gain at 9 o'clock, and Post-gain at unity. I don't think turning up the comp makes it worse, but thats just my opinion. It definitely makes my tone warmer, but not as much as I expected.

Not that I am disappointed, but this seems a lot more transparent than I thought it would be.
