Did it. Clicked the 'Buy It Now'. Haven't been around much lately, but got some new stuff on the horizon. Getting a bit more 'live PA' with my setup. midi sync and such. looping. no click. Anyone else rocking this thing? John
I had it. It was frustrating as hell, all of those cryptic button combinations. I was really busy at school when I bought it so I would get deep into learning it then have a bunch of school work and leave it alone for a few days. When I would get back to it, I would forget half of what I learned. With consistent practice/learning it can be mastered for sure. People that already used Elektron stuff and are used to their architecture can get proficient on one a lot quicker, it is a bit weird to save stuff correctly. If it had a little bit better functionality for looping, it would be unstoppable. All and all, it is an amazing piece of gear that really bend to the users needs a lot of times. People that have had them for years are still learning stuff. The Elektron-Users forum has a ton of helpful info and helpful people. Ultimately I switched over to Ableton. I definitely want to get one again in about a year. Also put up some videos once you learn it a bit please.
Cool. Nice to hear some personal experience with the thing. I've used some Elektron stuff in the past, so we will see how I do with it. I much prefer hardware to software, so hopefully it works out, because it certainly isn't cheap!!! John
I agree with hardware over software. What is super cool is how many ways different people use it and also how much Elektron supports their gear, lots of updates. Like I said, I ultimately plan to get one again and maybe by then, the little limitations I found for actually turning it into a bass looper/mangler wil be addressed (for all I know they have been, there was a pretty major update recently).
