Email notifications contain a "View this thread" link that apparently tracks the click via a site called mandrillapp.com - what's up with that? Who tracks my TalkBass useage and for what purpose?

Sure. Short version: I can turn off click tracking if it's a problem. Long version: Last night I put in an addon that pipes all outgoing emails through Mandrill. This is OUR mandrill account, and data is not shared with anyone else. This has several advantages over using our own server's linux Sendmail. We can automatically process email bounces, view spam complaints, and increase our email reputation (so fewer emails end up in your spam folder). By default Mandrill turns on click tracking. I'll attach screenshots of all the data this provides me. As you can see it's just an overall click rate %. Nothing personal. Look OK?
Thank you! I'm quite a bit suspicious of the data gathering and profiling that is going on online, but as long as it is for the use of TB only I don't have a problem with it.
It's not a problem to me too. Another thing: I turn off my Adblock, because I received a TB request (a popup). I understand that ads help support TalkBass, the request is fair and was very polite. Then I see this:

Was this related to the change that no longer inserts an excerpt of the new post in the email?
That was one of the best features of the new software, and now I don't see it any more.

No, totally separate. I hope to enable full post messages in notification emails for select usergroups soon. But it didn't work for the masses. EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS: Include transcript of new posts
