I'm sure a lot of folks here are familiar with the double-Jazz style pickups that Fender used on a lot of their Deluxe models back in the day. Unfortunately, it remains a very unpopular configuration for aftermarket replacement pickup options.
I'm wondering if anyone here has ever tried dropping an EMG 35 -sized pickup into a dual-J route. Going off the measurements on EMG's website it looks like it might just fit the width of a double-wide jazz route, depending on how oversized the route actually is, with the EMG35 being 0.04" or about 1mm wider than two jazz pickups side by side. If the width fits, it would leave a little gap on either side on the length.
Just curious if anyone here has tried it before I pull the trigger on anything.
and yes, the most obvious answer would be to just measure the bass I want to mod
. But I am not at home right now, so let's discuss...
