EMG 35P4 vs actual split P

I was wondering if someone here has experience with an EMG 35P4. How much does it sound like a normal split P pickup?
I understand that that pickup basically has the magnets arranged in such a way as a split P would have it, just with a soap bar housing. So can I expect a 35P4 to sound like an EMG P / PA, or something along those lines?

I think it does. It has that slightly hollow mid-focused tone just like a normal P.

Remember that there are other factors that make up the overall tone of an instrument. So if you compare a P in one bass to a 35P in another bass, they could sound different for other reasons.

Yeah, I'm just mainly concerned with the pickups qualities. I would want to swap from a 35DC to a 35P4, so same bass. But I wanted some sort of confirmation, before just ordering one!
