    Scooped these up to give them a try. Cool, but just prefer my PJ setup more. Mint, includes orignal packaging and solderless stuff. I am keeping the knobs unless its a dealbreaker for you.

    are these for 4 or 5 string?

    The 40 was intended for 5 strings but I have seen a few 4 strings use them over the 35.

    Would it matter if they are used on an a 4 sound wise I wonder. ?

    Probably the same. They are the same pickups/preamps in different length housings. Name designates size
    35 = 3.5 inches
    40 = 4 inches
    45 = 4.5 inches
