EMG J-set?

So, I assembled this FrankenJazz yesterday: Invalid Link Removed

Fender/Allparts

It sounds quite good, but the pickups are a bit too noisy for recording. I'm looking for a super clean in-your-face slap sound. Does the EMG J-set reguire any routing?

FWIW:

not if the bass has standard long or short 4 string J routes -and I'm not aware of any that don't that are routed for J's. Some of them do have a short (neck) at the bridge position - so basically two neck pups.

I have those p/u's on my custom jazz and they fit any standard Jazz routing. Only problem is control cavity might tight for 9V battery.
