EMG P or Duncan Quarter Pounder?

The time has come to finally trick out my 90's P Bass. I use it tuned a whole step down with a drop C and was wondering if anyone has experience with either of the aforementioned pickups? I've used a QP in the past but that was for a punk rock band...thought it sounded great but have no experience with EMG's. So, can anyone tell me waht they would use for a BIG and HEAVY sound? Think Clutch, COC, Down, ect.

I fitted a QPB-3 to my 90's Fender MIJ P-bass and wasn't that impressed, however, these things are very much in the ear of the beholder and there's no way to be 100% sure until you get the things loaded in there. I would say don't assume the problem with your sound is the pickups. It could just as easily be your amp or other issues with your set-up.

I wouldn't put an EMG in there. You have to remove the whole 12 screw pickguard to change the battery. You don't have to change them often but you never know what could happen.
If I were you, I would go with any of the three Dimarzios or a Rio Grande Muy Grande. If you want to spend some money, Delanos are good for a heavy tone.

I love my EMGs especially for anything heavy. The EMG P pickups have balls to them at least I think so.

Quarter pounders are my pup of choice for passive basses. I always get a pure growly/grind that was great for metal.

Cool guys, thanks for the input. Its sounding from all the different opinions that it might be a trial and error run to find "the sound". And its not like I'm getting a bad tone out of my stock pickup...its actually quite nice, but I just want MORE of it. I'm running SVTs live and in the studio and just want to slam the front end of the preamp a little more with a hotter signal. Right now I have the stock pickup sunk way into the body...it just didn't sound good close to the strings and I play very aggressive...but by having it so low,
I loose some natural gain...so just wanting more!!!

I have a couple of SD quarter pounder in my Fender Precision, and the best reference I can tell you is Fallen Angel from Iron Maiden. Hear the bassline of steve....well that's it.
