EMG P4/35DC set?

Hi low enders,
Loong time reader first time poster here.
I have Basses that run EMG DCs and also EMG P/J soapbars,
I'm currently working on a Jackson Concert Bass that I'm installing a clone of the original JE 2000 preamp into and I wanted to put a P4 in the neck and a DC in the bridge. The idea is to recreate a modern version of the classic 80s metal Jackson Bass that would regularly be seen with a P and a dual coil in the bridge.
Has anybody tried this combination or has it? I'd like some feedback before I pull the trigger if possible.
I'm open to alternatives along those lines

My EB333 has a 35CS at the bridge and a 35P in the middle (and a 35J at the neck, which isn’t relevant). It works great. The CS is a warmer version of the DC, but they both have that characteristic dual-coil “slightly scooped” tone. The P sounds like a P. Together they have a full, somewhat bright tone that’s great for aggressive rock.

I say go for it. The solderless connectors make it super easy to swap out if you change your mind. Check EMG’s outlet store on Reverb for discounted pickups.

Thats a hell of a setup, yeah I have an EMG CS but I couldn't get it to sound good for me, even though it's a great pickup, my go-to has always been a pair of DCs or P/J but mainly DCs, though you're right, I will try the CS also as it could really work well with the P, I play Classic Metal (along the lines of Judas Priest etc)

I have a Spector and a Schecter, both with EMG soapbars. The Spector has 35Js, the Schecter has 35TWs. I had various combinations of DCs, CSs, and Ps. I did not like the P/DC combo at all. I much preferred 2 DCs or 2 Ps.

I agree, I have 2 P4s in a Bass and i run 2 DCs in the rest of them,
This was more to capture the P/humbucker combo of the 80s
