Emg Selects

Anyone put the EMG Selects in their P bass? How Are they? Punchy?

"Punchy" is one those Talbass words like "Mwah" that it's tough to pin down. I replaced the stock PU in a BC Rich Platinum Series bass with a Select P pickup, and thought it sounded pretty darn good for the $. Had it tuned ADGC for a while and the low A was clear and deep.

I put a set in a Precision I sold because I wanted to keep the 62RI's that were in it. I thought they sounded about the same as Fenders current MIM split coils. A little harsh, IMO.

the selects are pretty stank. don't spend any money on them. (i wouldn't take them for free.)
