Well, it is Sunday Morning, actually for what you are using, it sounds surprisingly decent. Did you know that you can purchase Piezo elements off of Ebay, for pennies on the dollar,and
build your own pickup? There's a thread around hear somewhere, that shows you how to DIY a Piezo Pickup.

I tried this and it made my bass sound like a big block Chevy. Sounded great on 'Little Deuce Coupe' by the Beach Boys.

If you rush or drag, does the knocking get worse?
Do you now practice with a Timing Light instead of a Metronome?
Is your favorite interval the Perfect Octane?

Search on Ebay for "EQ 7545 piezo" and check the worldwide option.

I've tried those they always come unsodered and it's hard to re solder them... I did have the action higher and the sensor was under the bass foot height adjustment.. But it was to tinny.... These are about $13 at oRiley's if you get the right ones... I figured if it can handle the heat of an engine it won't break... But I fear these would be better suited for drum triggers... Kinda funny but a realist is like $200 and this Cremona is worth about that!!!

I hear you, my first Underwood cost me around $85.00 as I recall. When you get a few dollars, check the TB classifieds for a used one.
