Entwistle's Status 8 string

Thought some of you might like to see this photo of me full-on geeking out, playing John Entwistle's 8 -string Status bass at my friend Toby's Who-vault in Hoboken. He bought it and a baritone horn at the Sotheby's auction after John died. Since then, Status has provided him with a bit of background info. It was one of the first Status basses they sent him to check out with the idea that he would design his own. It was originally a 4 string, but the rigidity of the carbon neck made it possible to change the bridge and nut and add 4 more tuners.

It's a beast of an instrument, perfect for playing "Sister Disco".
