is there an envelope filter that drops the effect down instead of up? Sort of "wow" instead of "wah" i guess may be one way of describing it. i like the sound at the end of Soundgarden's "My Wave" which i know is a bass wah. I want that effect without having to work a wah pedal. Thanks.

The C4 and the Spectrum both support this.

You can also create 2 filters and have one go up and the other go down at the same time.

I used to have long termer's MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe and an MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter on my pedal board. I replaced both of these pedals with a single Source Audio C4, which adds a lot more than what either / both of these could offer me. The Source Audio Spectrum Intelligent Filter covers the same ground, slightly cheaper without the synth and step sequencer options of the C4. In my opinion the C4/Spectrum are the most versatile and accessible filters / octaver pedals on the market. It can do your quack down filter no problems at all...and a lot more. Last week, I created a patch that pretty much nails the Meridian Funkulator V1 sounds and controls...so that's another no longer needed pedal going on ebay....

Does the C4 have the espresso patch update yet?
;)

Don't they *all* have up or down option? I can't think of any that are up only
No, I would say that most are up only. Down is less common. In fact, I don't think all of those mentioned above are both up and down.

Meatball and Mu-tron are definitely both up and down. The switch is right on the top.
