Epiphone ET-280, any good?

A buddy of mine back in High School had one of these hanging on their wall. Their dad was quite a collector, but didn’t play much at all. Us kids loved to play but had no money to buy gear, so it was pretty sweet arrangement lol. I loved the ET-280, string up with half rounds, sounded so good! I just ordered a EA-260 because I’ve been jonesing for a hollow body, but if it doesn’t work out I’m hunting down an ET-280. Gotta love reviving old threads :D

I actually bought another et-280 back in June. I'm super happy to have this bass again.

I'm resurrecting this old post. This too was my first bass. My parents bought it from a pawn shop for my 15th birthday in 1989. Soon after I got a job, saved some money and sold it to buy a better bass. I sold it to a HS friend and he ended up selling it and now it's lost to history. I just recently thought about it going through old pictures in family albums when my dad passed away and saw 2 old Polaroids my mom took of me 'playing' it on my birthday. I'm seriously considering finding one to buy and hang on the wall. I have no way to know if I can find 'mine' or not as I don't have the ser#, but one just like it would be awesome. Thanks for sharing your post.
